sleep
Sleep, in summary, is the time for our bodies to rest, and refuel. It is advised to get a full 8 to 10 hours, but the duration is not all that matters to a night of quality sleep. There are many other components like staying off electronics before sleep, following a regular sleep cycle and regulating the temperature and lighting of the room. Moreover, sleep can also be defined as the recharging of the soul. If we treat sleep as a treatment rather than an escape from reality, our awake hours can thrive as well. Our sleep also brings something mystical- dreams. Most people have four to six dreams per night, and analyzing them gives a deep insight into our subconscious, as Freud suggests. While some theories say dreams are a summary of our uncovered subconscious, some also say that recording our dreams helps us to connect with our spirit. Keeping a dream journal to find deeper meanings for healing or just for fun can be an activity to look forward to the nightly rest. However, the lack of sleep is detrimental to our health. We need a full 8 to 10 hours to carry on with our day and for our body to function correctly. We can face problems in concentrating, finding motivation, or carrying out simple tasks when we are sleep-deprived. In other words, sleep is vital for all kinds of healing and rest, and the ignorance of it causes all kinds of dysfunctions ranging from diabetes to heart failure. For those of us who have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, good recommendations are warm baths, not taking many naps, meditation, or in some cases sleep therapy.
